ESRI young scholar award

This year I received the ESRI Young Scholar Award at the ESRI User Conference in San Diego in July 2015. The prize was given for the maps he designed in the research project A sense of place commissioned by the City of Turku.

I want to express my gratitude to the Turku Urban Research Program for supporting our research at SPIN Unit,  the Architecture dept. of the Estonian Academy of Arts for providing software infrastructures and to AlphaGIS for hosting me overseas.

With SPIN Unit I also participated to the international competition to select the most unique maps of the year. With over 900 submissions, SPIN Unit’s map received the 2nd prize. XYHT Magazine has also published a review of the work on the September 2015 issue.
